This site has Unicode encoded Bengali texts. If you cannot see the Bangla texts, then you would need to setup your computer for Unicode. Here is how to setup. You may also need to install a good Bangla Unicode font. We have modified the  publicly available Ekushey Lohit font for better screen reading. The new font, called AponaLohit looks almost like an Unicode compatible version of popular Boishakhi font. Download from here. You may wish to view the Bangla version of this site too.

Content Management System:

Before we go into details of Bangla specific issues, let us first be clear what CMS is or better whether CMS software is any good for a specific purpose. Without pulling any definition:

CMS software is a piece of program that resides in the server and drives a whole website. When visitors request something it is the CMS software that answers the request. In addition to that, CMS software allows the webmasters or the people behind to add new materials, to delete or archive outdated materials and other maintenance job. Users can be given privileges at different levels. Contents can be added by contributing members; they may be needed to be approved by the publishers etc. All of these things are done in so called back-end of the CMS software whereas the view the web visitors get is called front-end.

CMS can really be productive for maintaining a running websites having dynamic contents and an active user base.
